Therapy with a unique 2RT laser is non-invasive salvation for the eyes. 2RT laser treatment can be applied at an early stage of the disease which is Age-related Macula Degeneration (AMD). This is very important because until now could only start in the late stages of the disease when the degenerative changes were irreversible and gradually lead to loss of vision. 2RT laser therapy allows you to start treatment at an early stage of developing AMD in the so-called. dry form. So far, at this stage, treatment was applied only supplementation.
Laser treatments designed to perform 2RT™ (Retina Regeneration Therapy) uses a nanosecond laser pulse, green Q-swiched with 532 nm length of the generated wave. 2RT therapy uses pulses much shorter than the ones used in conventional photocoagulation procedure. The laser energy causes excitation of the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) without causing thermal damage to the tissue.
2RT laser treatment is used to treat:
2RT laser treatment aim is to stimulate the natural biological process of regeneration of the eye. The precisely controlled nanosecond laser pulse interacts on the retina. The treatment results is the minimization or reduction of drusen (deposits metabolites), and at the same time, improving the functioning of the eye being treated and untreated.
- The procedure itself usually takes 10 minutes. It is completely painless for the patient. Before the procedure patient takes anesthetic drops so the lens could be formed on whereby the ophthalmologist performs surgery. During the laser patient you see only flashes of light and hear a short click.
2RT laser treatment must necessarily be preceded by ophthalmic research that will help your doctor assess the current status of the retina and the degree of severity of the disease
These research are carried out within the framework of the visit to the qualifying procedure 2RT. Based on the results ophthalmologist decides about the possibility of taking 2RT laser treatment. The laser can be made on the same day.
After surgery, the patient can return to daily activities. It should, however, remain under the supervision of an ophthalmologist. The effectiveness of treatment is assessed after 3 and 6 months during periodic visits.
